Our Own PVC Cover.
Made For New Zealand.
After more than 12 years and 3,500 shelters in some of the toughest conditions in the country, we knew exactly what we wanted from a cover. So we specified our own. Sheltex is a 650gsm PVC membrane with a sealed outer finish, developed to our specification to stay cleaner, run brighter and stand up to New Zealand UV for longer.
Same Dirt. Same Wipe. Different Result.
We rubbed the same dirt into our previous 610gsm cover and into Sheltex, then wiped both. The sealed outer finish on Sheltex is designed so grime sits on the surface instead of bonding into the weave, which is why it comes off with a wipe and why a Sheltex-covered shelter stays looking new for longer between washes.

More Fabric In The Cover
Up from the 610gsm industry-standard membrane. More weight means more strength, more tear resistance and a cover that sits tighter on the frame.
An Outer Finish That Sheds Dirt
A sealed top surface is designed to stop grime bonding to the cover, so it stays cleaner between washes and looks new for longer.
More Light Underneath
A whiter, more reflective surface bounces more daylight into the shelter and more heat away from it.
Built For The New Zealand Sun
Designed to reflect more UV than our previous cover, in a country with some of the harshest UV on earth.
Two Great PVC Covers. One Lighter Alternative.
Our 610gsm ripstop PVC has covered thousands of shelters around New Zealand and still does. Sheltex builds on it. Polyethylene (PE), which plenty of other shelters are covered in, is a different thing altogether.

From Spring 2026 onwards, Sheltex is the standard cover on every new shelter we manufacture, including all made-to-order sizes from 16m up. We're still selling down our existing stock, which comes with our proven 610gsm cover and carries the same 10 Year Warranty.
New Production From Spring 2026
Every new shelter manufactured from Spring 2026 ships with Sheltex. That includes all 16m and larger truss models, custom spans, and any standard size ordered as a fresh build.
Remaining Stock
While we sell down existing stock, those shelters ship with our proven 610gsm ripstop PVC, the cover on thousands of shelters around the country. Same frame, same 10 Year Warranty.
