Container Shelters respects your privacy. This policy explains, in plain English, what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and your rights under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

Who we are

In this policy, 'we', 'us' and 'our' means Container Shelters. It applies when you visit containershelters.co.nz, send us an enquiry, request a quote, buy from us or otherwise deal with us.

What we collect

• Details you give us: your name, company, email address, phone number, site or delivery address and details about your project, when you send an enquiry, request a quote, place an order or contact our team.
• Order information: billing and delivery addresses, what you ordered and confirmation of payment. Payments are handled by our payment processors, who collect your payment details in order to process the transaction.
• Account information: if you create an account on our site, your login details and related security information.
• Website usage: information about how you use our site, collected through cookies, pixels and similar technologies. This can include your device and browser type, network connection, IP address and the pages you view.
• Information from others: information from service providers who support our site and services, such as Shopify and our payment processors.

You can choose not to give us some information, but we may not be able to quote, supply or support you properly without it.

How we use it

• To respond to enquiries and prepare quotes
• To process orders and payments, and arrange delivery, installation, returns and warranty support
• To provide customer support and improve our products, services and website
• To send you marketing and promotional communications, and to show you relevant advertising. You can opt out of marketing at any time
• To detect and prevent fraud and other illegal or malicious activity
• To meet our legal obligations and enforce our terms

Who we share it with

• Service providers who work on our behalf, such as website hosting, customer management, IT, payment processing, analytics, customer support, cloud storage, and freight, delivery and installation partners.
• Business and marketing partners who help us provide services and advertise to you. They use your information in line with their own privacy notices.
• Related companies within our group.
• Others, when you ask us to or otherwise consent, for example to get a product delivered to you.
• Where the law requires it, or in connection with a business transaction such as a sale or merger, to enforce our terms, or to protect our rights and the rights of others.

Information held overseas

Some of our service providers, including Shopify, store and process information outside New Zealand. When your information is held overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure it is protected by safeguards comparable to those under New Zealand law.

Like most websites, we use cookies and similar technologies to run and improve the site, remember your preferences, understand how people use the site, and tailor our advertising. We may also allow third parties and service providers to use cookies on our site for these purposes. Your rights

• Access: you can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction: you can ask us to correct information you think is wrong.
• Marketing: you can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in the email, or by contacting us. We may still send non-promotional messages about your orders or account.

To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity first, and we will respond as soon as we reasonably can, and within 20 working days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your local privacy laws.

Children

Our website and services are not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information about children. If you are the parent or guardian of a child who has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.

Links to other sites

Our site may link to websites or platforms run by others. We are not responsible for their privacy or security practices, so please check their policies before giving them your information.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. We will post the updated version here and change the 'Last updated' date at the top.
