Garlic Drying & Machinery Storage
This grower used four 14m wide truss shelters over a central bank of 40ft containers, creating a practical covered area for crop drying, machinery storage and workshop use.
Mounted on 40ft shipping containers, the structure delivers an overall apex height of approximately 7.9m. Combined with the 900mm vertical upstand, this creates excellent clearance alongside the containers for tractors, implements and stacked produce bins.
Newborn Livestock Housing
A Canterbury livestock operation needed housing for newborn stock, and needed it quickly. We supplied and installed ten 10m x 40ft shelters side by side on shared containers, so each container between them carries a shelter on both sides. Fewer containers, less ground taken up, and one connected run of covered space.
The white cover lets daylight through, so the space is bright without lighting, and air keeps moving while the animals stay warm and out of the weather. Every shelter has full rainwater control, with spouting and downpipes taking water away from the site. All ten were installed in under two weeks.

Built For Real Farm Operations
From machinery storage and workshops through to calf rearing, feed storage and produce drying, Container Shelters provide practical covered space designed for New Zealand farming conditions.
Brighter. Cooler. Built For New Zealand Conditions.
Unlike darker covers commonly used throughout the industry, our white 610gsm ripstop PVC reflects heat, improves natural light and creates a brighter working environment throughout the day.
We put a white cover and a grey cover side by side on a 30°C day and measured both. The white sat at 31°C. The grey reached 50°C. Under a farm shelter that is the difference between livestock and staff working comfortably through summer and a space nobody wants to be in by midday.

Common Questions About Farm Shelters
Practical answers to the most common questions about agricultural shelter systems.
Do I need building consent for an agricultural container shelter?
Consent requirements vary depending on location, size, use and site conditions. We can provide guidance and engineering documentation where required.
Can these shelters be installed on existing containers?
Yes. Container-mounted shelters are one of our most popular configurations and can be installed on both 20ft and 40ft shipping containers.
Are these suitable for livestock and feed storage?
Absolutely. Many customers use our shelters for calf rearing, feed storage, hay storage and general livestock protection.
Can I concrete the floor?
Yes. Shelters can be installed before or after concrete placement depending on the project requirements and intended use.
What wind zones are your shelters suitable for?
We supply shelter solutions for a range of New Zealand wind zones. Factors such as site exposure, elevation, shelter size and mounting method all influence the design. We assess each project individually and can provide site-specific engineering where required.
Can I add end walls, doors or gutters later?
Yes. End walls, access doors, gutter systems and other accessories can often be added as your storage requirements evolve.
How long do container shelters last?
Our shelters utilise heavy-duty galvanised steel frames and premium 610gsm ripstop PVC covers, backed by a 10-year replacement warranty. Replacement covers are also available if required in the future, helping maximise the lifespan of your investment.
Do you install nationwide?
Yes. We supply and install container shelters throughout New Zealand using our nationwide installer network.
