Covered Space Within Reach Of A School Budget
Most schools don't need another building — they need somewhere out of the weather for PE, for the ag unit, for the ride-on and the gear that currently lives outside. A container shelter delivers that at a fraction of a conventional build, and goes up in days rather than across a term.
Will It Cover The Court?
Every width in the range has its clear span, rise and overall apex height listed on its own page, on both standard and Hi-Cube containers.
Check the figures against your court dimensions and your site plan before you talk to anyone. They are also the numbers a board paper or consent application needs, so you can start the process without waiting on a quote.

Common Questions From Property Managers
Practical answers to the questions we get asked most by schools, boards and campus property teams.
Do we need building consent for a school shelter?
In most cases yes. Consent requirements depend on size, location, intended use and how long the structure will remain in place. We can supply the engineering documentation needed to support a consent application and your property approval process.
Can it be installed during a term break?
Usually. Installation is typically measured in days rather than weeks, and because there are no conventional foundations there is far less groundwork than a permanent build. Timing depends on size and site access, which we confirm when quoting.
How much of a court or play area can we cover?
Clear spans run from 6m through to 24m between containers, in lengths from 20ft up to 100ft or custom. Every span, rise and apex height is listed on the individual shelter pages so you can check it against your court or hardcourt dimensions directly.
Can we start open and enclose it later?
Yes. End walls are modular, so a shelter can be installed open and enclosed later as budget allows. Doors, half walls and full end walls can all be added without replacing the structure.
What wind zones are your shelters suitable for?
Our shelters are engineered for New Zealand wind regions, with the design basis stated on each product page. Exposure, elevation, span and mounting method all affect the design, and we can provide site-specific engineering where required.
Does it have to be mounted on containers?
No. Shelters can be mounted on containers, block walls, or timber or steel posts. Post mounting is often preferred on school grounds where containers would look out of place or restrict access.
Can it be moved if the site master plan changes?
Yes. Because there are no conventional foundations, the structure can be dismantled and re-erected elsewhere on the grounds if the site plan changes.
Do you install nationwide?
Yes. We supply and install throughout New Zealand using our nationwide installer network.
